hardwood timber.
The
Species
- Victorian Ash which consists of two
similar hardwood species
- Eucalyptus regnans
- Eucalyptus delegatensis
The
Manufacturing Process
- Hardwood sawlogs are stored in log
yard under sprinklers prior to processing
- Logs quarter-sawn
- Timber is stable
- Consistent, attractive grain
- Timber racked into packs and
protected from weather
- Kiln dried
- Sawdust driven boiler generates steam for kilns
that gently lower moisture content in product
- Computers monitor kiln-drying schedules so that
moisture content of timber can be guaranteed, ensuring a stable, fit
for purpose product
- Boards dried to between 10-12% Moisture Content
(MC) or as per customer specification and reconditioned
- Reconditioned
- All boards are reconditioned
- Planed to required thickness
- Lasers used to pin point sizing for
precision of cutting of timber, reducing waste and improving efficiency
and quality control
- Automated Dockers - dock timber for
defect and maximise recovery
- End matchers - tongue and groove
profiles on the end of strip floorboards to reduce waste
- Moulders - produce endless array of
shapes to suit clients requirements
- Visually graded timber by skilled
employees
- Timber certified, wrapped in plastic,
labelled and stored undercover
